We have been trying to keep a secret and I think we have done a pretty good job. I have only been able to talk to Jill about it and practicing calling Jill “Grandma “gets a bit frustrating. So I guess by now you have all guessed we are going to finally be grand parents. Nicole and Chris told us a few weeks ago. They told all the prospective grand parents and we promised to keep it to ourselves until we were told – make it public. I wish Gwen ( Great Grandma ) could have been here she would have been so excited. Jill has been making up this huge list of names for me to email to Nicole and Chris – with doing family tree -it is amazing at the names that come up.
Thanks Nicole & Chris.
The weather continues to heat up and we have decided to stay at home in the air conditioning. The pool looks inviting – I have finally got it all clean – new part for the auto cleaner certainly helped and I turned on the solar – water temp is up to 30+ degrees. I will have to tell Lorna to bring her grand children over for a swim.
As I mentioned Jean was 90 in the first of November and she celebrated in style with her open house. I looked more like a florist and card shop than her lounge. I think she is still getting over it.
I have been working on the family tree with the help of other family members – some close and others very extended. Found new branches which tend to distract you from the closer family. I have eventually put our section of the tree up on Ancestry .com. If any family member would like access please email us and I will send you an invite. The more information the better and will help checking the accuracy.
We have taken delivery of a wheel chair – it is sitting in the front bedroom – Jill refuses to even look at it. She feels once she accepts it she has let this rotten disease win. I can understand that but hope she will use it so that we can go shopping or out for a visit. The girl that delivered the chair also brought a portable cycle exercise unit that can be used by foot or hand for Jill to try. Jill is using that each day. She is still getting out to the gym, but as I have said it is getting more difficult. Jill’s next appointment with the orthopaedic surgeon in a couple of weeks away so I hope he can offer her a small part of a solution to the pain in her knee. Time flies, it is another twelve months since we were in China for the second lot of stem cells. We are continually asked “Did the stem cells work”. My answer is – I believe it is buying us time for a treatment to be found. The answer will be when they can modify the new stem cells to go to the area that is under threat. STEM CELLS ARE THE ANSWER.
I wish we were with the kid’s this weekend as they are all off to see Tiger Woods in the Australian Golf Open in Melbourne – they brought their tickets and a car park several months ago. Watch out for those balls hit by Tiger.
While writing this Jake & Jessie are out the back watching me throught the window.
Time for breakfast – see you next week on the net.
