Week 171-2 ” BREAVEMENT THANKS”

It is surprising where the time has gone since mum’s passing. We have had some great phone calls, emails and cards that have all brought back memories.

We the  family of Gwen Isabel Keenan wish to thank all those that have fond memories of our mother. She would have been embarrassed by the wonderful things her friends, extended family and acquaintances have said. A very special thanks to the wonderful friends and staff from St Catherine’s Hostel – Mum considered it her “HOME”

Thanks again from us all.

Pat& Keith, Mac & Jill, Keiran and Louise, her grand children, Michael, Kym & James, Allison & Chris , Chris & Nicole, Maree, Ben & Jennie and her much treasured great grand children Erin, Euan and Hamish, and of course Jessie(her cat).

The last couple of weeks we have been trying to get back to some normality. Jill back in the gym daily the lawns mowed, shopping, cooking meals and thinking about the caravan all filling in the day. Jill’s knees are getting worse day by day and walking even down the passage is becoming more difficult, we have another appointment late in November with the orthopaedic surgeon and we have come to the decision that surgery is possibly the only way Jill can alleviate the pain from the bone on bone contact.

This week we have no appointments so I will get the van ready for a small trip. I think we will pack her up and go to Bendigo and get the Jeep serviced. We have a couple of birthdays coming up. Jill’s Aunty Jean will reach 90on the 1st of November and Jill’s is on Monday week.

I have been filling my other time (late evenings) with Family Tree items, I have been following up on the McDonnell’s and following a visit from Joan & Jean last weekend I received an email from Joan with a file containing the Kneebone History as written by Nanette Green based on Henry Kneebone’s diaries and family remembrances – fascinating is the least I can say and on reading it I have been able to piece together more family on Jill’s side. Last night I got another email on the Keenan’s – the arrival and marriage of Mary Keenan to Artimas Ingreuille and a daughter Mary Ann. Artimas was Aide de Camp to the Governor of Victoria in1860 but got pneumonia before taking up the position and died. Mark has been diligently tracing this but as yet unable to trace a marriage – possibly at sea. Thank heavens for the internet.

It is time to get Jill up.

See you next week on the net.
