Week 156-7 “Mum back amongst the living”

Two weeks have passed since I last added to our Blogg and as usual it passes so quickly. Jill and I had planed to be in Hervey Bay this week to enjoy the warmth and the company of our kids. However as can be seen we are still at home.

Mum has been back at St Catherine’s for a couple of weeks but has had an up and down experience. Last weekend she keeps telling everyone that she had to go and she wanted to see all the family before she could go. It was a pleasure when I went the other day and she was having a cuppa with some of her friends and complaining that she couldn’t go and play indoor bowls. Her next comment was “I’ll be there next week” She has certainly improved each day.

Jill has got over her Urodynamics examination from a few weeks ago. We arrived at our appointment at 5pm and there were cars parked everywhere and the only place for me to park was over the road. I decided to pull into their drive, let Jill out and then move the car over the road. All went well, I back into their driveway, got out Jill’s walker and Jill and said don’t move until I get back. I started to drive across the road and looked in the rear vision mirror to check on Jill only to see her trying to move off the drive – I think she thought I was coming towards her and the next thing I could see was the walker tipping over and Jill going with it. I stopped the car and reached Jill at the same time as a girl walking past did and we were able to stand her up nursing a very sore behind and badly bruised by the next morning. That was only the start as when we went in we were told they were running late and it would be an hour before Jill would get to see the urologist. At about 6.30pm she was ushered away by the nurse and some hour latter we were taken into the doctors rooms for him to discuss his findings. We finally arrive home at 8.45pm.He has suggested a visit by the continence nurse to help with the next step – so that has been organised for next week.

We have had several phone calls from Fraser Island – Fish are on the bite and the weather is great, they are heading back to King Fisher Bay Resort for a couple of nights, then back to Hearvey Bay via the barge for the rest of the week.

We have had a call from Joan in England and she seems to be having a great time and was flying off to Morocco the next day with her daughter.

We have also been Skyped from Gavin & Jeannette at Derby and they also sent some photos from the Kimberley’s

Some more news from Margaret and Barry – Paul & Tamara have a second daughter Camilla Grace. Jill is even more envious. Photo attached

The caravan is still poised at the ready in the driveway and we will see how things progress over the next couple of weeks.

We will see you on the net next week
