We are home from Eildon and we had a great time. We had missed last Easter trip so it was good to catch up with friends and relatives. We left here late afternoon on Wednesday prior to Easter and arrived at about 6 pm. We were allocated a site opposite the area where the others were to be. Our sir site had a concrete pad which was great for Jill to come out of the van onto. Most of the others arrived on Thursday with Allison and Chris, Chris and Nicole arriving on Good Friday. Evenings were enjoyable around a fire. The night time temperature was low and the fire was a necessity.
Jill’s exercises were limited to walks across the driveway and dodging tree roots when we visited the kids in their tents or graduated to the warmth of the fire. The fire was contained in the circular drum of an old washing machine. Evening entertainment was discussions, jokes and music from a didgeridoo. We had several drives up to the various look outs and boat ramps around the water. The level of the dam is still very low, probably the lowest we have ever seen.
Saturday and most went to the local market which is an annual event and very large. We shopped for some requirements and a cup of coffee for Jill. Chris and I went fishing but with no luck. I need lots of practice. Monday and Tuesday saw all but Jeannette, Gavin and us pack up and head for home. It was certainly much quieter and Jill got to enjoy Jeannette’s company. We went to the local bakery and had a meal – hot pies and coffee.
Finally came Thursday and we both packed up and headed for our homes. We arrived home about 4.30pm after picking up an excited Jake at the kennels.
We had wanted to get home to see what had been achieved in the renovations while we were away. Not as much as I had hoped and he was making the final touches to the vanity in the old shower. Tells us he will not be back until next Monday which was a bit disappointing.
I cleaned out the caravan and have made arrangements to leave it at the caravan repairers for a couple of weeks to give the builder access to the drive. I decided to help out by removing the wardrobe internals, relocating a couple of doors and generally cleaning up the site. Hoping the builder will be here early on Monday.
Allison is coming over for the week to be with Jill while I am in hospital in Melbourne. (Mercy Private). I can’t say I am too happy about going. I received a booklet about the procedure and possible side effects and I almost cancelled the whole thing. However considering the annoyance of visits to the toilet etc it will be worth while. I am worried about Jill as this will be the first time I have been away from her since she was diagnosed back in 2003. I know the tears will flow on Tuesday morning when I leave.
I have lots of pictures about our Easter adventure and will get those underway next week. I have another wardrobe to dismantle so I had better get to work.
Another year has passed and another Anniversary has come around. WE hope the Allison and Chris have enjoyed their Wedding anniversary on Friday.
HAPPY ANNIVERSARY ALLISON & CHRIS.
See you next week on the net
